On the search engine results for a lot of keywords not only will you find fpk on the first page but the page you are now viewing is also there. This is an added bonus to fpk because it gives him three top ranking pages for customers to find him through. Search engines limit the number of pages they will display in results to just two. The success of this page means it is possible for fpk to have their site, or this link to it, in the top three places of the search engine results.

The success of the website has already helped Peter and Judy Moore expand their business. They have gone from a home based business working from their Garage to having two Showrooms and a factory.

The website keeps rising higher and higher in the rankings of the search engines and this has increased orders so much that they are currently considering expanding their business yet again.

D.I.Y. Flat Pack Kitchen

 Stage 1

This web design was our first major site. As the owners were a small business the operating costs of the web site were a major concern. They did not want to pay for internet access plus domain registration plus a monthly fee for web site hosting. For the sake of operating costs we setup and hosted the web site on their own computer. We setup Apache Web server and a private email server. They simply used their existing internet connection for access to the web and to display their web site. The web site design went live on the internet in September 2004. The web design started out as little more than a fancy business card, with contact details and a little information. We started with around 10 visits per week in the beginning.

 Stage 2

The owners decided that the web site could be very handy as a sales/designer tool, by offering door colours, bench top colours, electrical appliances and a portfolio of completed kitchens, vanities and wardrobes. Around this time we were already indexed in GOOGLE, MSN and Yahoo. Visitors had grown to around 20 - 30 a day. The owners started to realise that, with a bit more content and work on the web site design, new visitors could be increased without a major advertising campaign.

 Stage 3

We analysed the logs and found people were coming in from the search engines on keywords that were associated with the web site. We sat down and worked out what keywords / key phrases would bring about benefits in terms of targeted visitors. We chose a few and started to add more unique content, more photo's and more descriptions. The web site started to rank in the Search Engines for our targeted keywords and key phrases.

Their visitors had increased to between 30 and 50 people a day and numbers continue to rise to this day. The team at By Wild  designed an easy to use Content Management System (CMS) that means it is very simple to add new products and new descriptions to the web site at any time and from any computer. The CMS enabled us to add 100's of products and descriptions very fast, easily and efficiently. New categories and subcategories are simple to design and maintain. With the search engines spidering/indexing the web site daily it doesn't take long for a new product to be indexed into the search engines.

 Stage 4

After phone calls and emails with requests for various products Peter and Judy Moore, the web site owners, with input from the team at By Wild decided that the next logical step would be to offer an online store or shopping cart as they are called. Because of the way we designed and built the CMS backend in Stage 3 this next step has taken very little time and it is in final test mode. It will be fully operational within two weeks.

The site was receiving over 700 visitors each week and we had seen up to nine people browsing the web site at once. Because of this we had to move the site to a faster host which can now handle 1000's of visitors a day with no slow down to anyone. By Wild handled the transfer from the home hosting to our own Specialised Australian Servers. We did this with no interruption to the web site and no loss of rankings in the search engines.

We did a rather in-depth check and found that there are very few online kitchen shops and none that we could find in Australia. We are just about finished with regards to the whole shopping cart design and it is ready for online testing. We have designed the whole Shopping Cart from start to finish plus organised the SSL certificate and the secure gateway for payment.
